Brad's 9 month pictures

I can't believe that he is already 9 months! Brad is really starting to show his personality. He loves hanging upside down, pulling plugs out of the sockets, following his brother around, and loves being chased around by his daddy. He is usually (not while taking his 9 month pictures) very smiley and loves to get attention from everyone we meet. People stop me all the time at the store because Brad was staring them down to get their attention. When I catch him doing something he shouldn't he will try doing it faster or crawl away as fast as he can while laughing. When I tell him "No!" he shakes his head no and laughs. He doesn't like to eat much real food or drink from a bottle or sippy cup. He also doesn't like to sleep very much. One day, he had slept less than Wesley did and didn't take a nap all day. I don't know how he survives.
When we were at JC Penney's getting his pictures taken he stood up by himself for the first time it was cool to get a picture of his very first time standing. We love watching Brad grow into a little boy and watching him learn new tricks each day. We love him!!

Adams Family Visit 2009 July 26-Aug 2

So I called this the trip of 2009 hoping that my family will come every year. We had so much fun so now i am campaigning for the 2010 trip. Wesley was so excited to see Emily, Blake, and Grandma and Grandpa Adams. I don't think he really believed that they were coming until they showed up at the door and he got so excited. Bradley was a little nervous at first, crying for the first 15 minutes but then warmed up to all of them. We loved having them around but they were a little unlucky to come here to Portland when we where having breaking record heats (107F) and they lasted the whole time they were here. Which for all the Arizonians out there is nothing and a cooler day for the summer, but here in Portland where most places don't have air conditioning, it was really hot! We did end up buying a window air conditioner and my Dad set up all the fans we had to make the air flow best, which helped a little. We noticed that later in the week stores were selling out of fans and air conditioners. Glad we got ours when we did! The first day we decided because it was going to be one of the cooler days of the week (still really hot) we would go pick some berries so that we could eat them all week. We headed out to Sauvie Island Farms and picked 13 pounds of berries!!! They were gone in a few days though.

Then for the rest of the week to escape the heat we went to Tillamook Factory to eat ice cream (brad's 1st taste of ice cream) and Hug Beach....

(last week at the coast they found a great white shark so my first thought is my brother and sister could have been eaten-- they went way out into the freezing water)

We went to see the movie "UP!", swimming at our apartment pool, and played card games.Wesley was so excited to have Uncle Blake to climb trees and build trains and legos with him.

Also went to multnoma falls and played in the river.

We went shopping for school clothes (does it count even if i have been out of school for 5 years?) and to check out my favorite grocery store WinCo. It was hard to get Dad out of WinCo once we got there. We went 2 times while they were here.

(shopping for sunglasses)

On Saturday Orrin was finally able to join us in our adventures so we took a trip to Mt. Hood ( a place we had not been to yet). We first drove up to Timberline lodge. It was built in 1937 during the great depression and was built to create work for unemployed workers. Everything was made by hand including all the furniture inside. It was very cool looking even without snow around. Many movies have also filmed there. At the top of the Mt. there was still a little snow and a ski lift was still taking people up the Mt. to ski down. Then we went to skibowl resort to ride the alpine slides and play at the adventure park.

We had so much fun having family around. It just went by too fast. Wesley missed them a lot after they left. For the next few days every once and a while he would just start crying "Grandmaaaa! I want Grandma."

Party in the Park

Each year the Tualtin Hills Parks and Recreation puts on a "Party in the Park". It is a huge party all day and all free. This year the our stake had volunteered to be in charge of all the volunteering for the event so many members and missionaries from our ward an stake attended. It turned out to be a very hot day but we still had a blast.
Wes rode on a pony
played in bounce houses
and we checked out some cool cars (the radio flyer wagon is a street legal car!)

Wesley gives a talk in Primary

I was so proud of Wesley for giving his first talk in Primary!! The theme was "I can strengthen my family". We practiced all week and he did so great. He talked really quiet but you were still able to hear him if you listened really good. Orrin came in to help Wes. ( I am Wes's primary teacher so I get to sit with him every week.) I almost started to tear up a little watching him. Wow! I still can't believe I have a boy in primary.
