Last Friday we were able to attend Orrin's White Coat Ceremony. Which if you don't know... it is when a student reaches the patient care phase of their dental education. It marks the student's transition from the study of preclinical to clinical health sciences. So I would like to introduce you to "Student Doctor Mackey". Doesn't he make a Handsome Doctor.
Becoming a 2nd year means a lot of long nights in the simulation lab (where he is right now @11:30pm).
(The guy taking our picture was really tall. He had to look down with the camera. funny.)
They had the Dean, Associate Dean, and Pres of the Alumni Association speak and then the class of 2012 were each called up and were presented with their White Coat.
I got to see was Orrin receiving his coat but I had both boys with me by my self, it was during their nap time, and the room had no air conditioning so we didn't stay in the room very long. But we listened from outside.
We are very proud of him and all the hard work he has put into his 1st year of dental school! (and a few weeks into his 2nd)
Congratulations Orrin!
