Orrin's Turn.... He is 29!!!

Ok so I am a little happy now that Orrin has also turned 29 (on April 7th) so he can stop reminding me that I am "so" much older than him. We love him very much and the boys and I were excited to celebrate him and his birthday.

Wow! Spring Break, Easter, & Conference in the same week!!

I had been counting down the days for Orrin's Spring break to come. I think I was the one that was most excited to have it come. We were a little bummed that the weather was not the best (the week before it was beautiful). We only had one day of sun and the boys wanted to go fishing...again.

So on day 1 of spring break we went fishing at Henry Hagg Lake. I have to say that it was a really nice day. We didn't catch anything but we still had a fun time playing with ropes and mud and playing outside.

Monday we decided to do some spring cleaning. It is such a nice feeling to get rid of things you don't need and also organize the things you do.

Tuesday I was able to volunteer at Wes's school while Orrin had Bradley. He has been begging me to be one of the moms that helps out in his class for a long time. It was really fun for me to see what they do during the day and get to know his friends from school. Later Wesley and Orrin went swimming at one of the many (there really is a lot around here) of indoor swimming pools.

Wednesday we went to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science & Industry). From the day we moved here we have heard people talk about OMSI and have even seen it many times while driving over the river. They have a real working submarine that sits in the river that you are able to take a tour of. Wesley and Orrin had a blast checking it out. Brad was too young to go inside but there was so much other stuff for us to do while we waited. It was so much fun even Brad had a blast.

Sound asleep on the way home.

Thursday was a day that we knew was not going to rain (still overcast) so we decided to go check out this tulip farm we had heard about last year called the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. Tulips have always been my favorite flower. They are so beautiful. I didn't know how much the boys would like this trip but they had so much fun. They have a huge children's play area, old tractors, and tons of mud. Wesley had so much fun "snow boarding" as he called it, through the mud. It was so beautiful walking through all those tulips.

We even got ice cream on the way home!

Friday we planted our garden. I am very excited to see if anything come up or even better if we get any harvest. We planted the square food garden way and just started with seeds. I have always planted things from a started plant you buy at the store so I really hope something will start growing out of the dirt. We are very excited to have a garden.

Conference weekend is always a time I look forward to. To me it is like our own little Mormon holiday. We have a tradition of making avelskervers for breakfast and playing conference games with the kids. I just love hearing from the prophets. I always feel like it is a chance to re motivate me to do good and it uplifts me. I love it.

Easter was also lot of fun for the boys. The night before we decorated the eggs for the Easter Bunny to put them in our baskets. In the morning the boys woke up and went right out to look for there baskets. Bradley found his first and he even let out this big "WOW!!" when he saw it. He really doesn't talk a lot so he must have been really excited to see all that candy. We at first decided to let them just eat all the candy they wanted and then just get rid of (or let Orrin have)the rest but that plan didn't work out to well. They just kept eating and eating and eating. I could tell that Brad was not feeling too well but he just kept eating so I did have to eventually take all the candy away. Not such an easy task.

We had any amazing week. We had too much fun and now I am really feeling the fun withdraws. Cant wait until the next break in 11 weeks!!
