First Camping Trip of the Season

We decided to take a quick camping trip with some good friends from our ward, the last weekend in july. We ended up at Silver Falls, a place we camped at last year. It is a really nice place to camp and we had a blast even though we forgot our matches, butter, salt, and a pot to cook in, we made it work.

The boys had a blast right in their element (dirt, rocks, & sticks).

The next day we decided to hike around a few of the falls. In the picture Wes looks like he doesnt want to hike but he was just sick of me taking pictures:)
Wes loves hiking!

Brad rode on Orrin's back the way out and then walked most of the way back. He was a trooper!

Beautiful.

Trip to the Hospital

Last week we had a surprise visit to the Hospital via an ambulance. Wesley thought it was way fun but it freaked me out. After dinner on Monday night we noticed Wes was making a lot of noise while breathing. Only a few minutes later it turned into him crying that he can't breath and we noticed he was really trying hard to breath. I then called the after hours pediatrician office and they wanted to see him right away. When we got into the doctors office they gave him a breathing treatment which didn't seem to help. They decided to give him a steroid which still didn't help increase his oxygen level. The doctor then decided that we should have him admitted to the hospital. The hospital that she wanted us to go to was about 15 minutes away and the doctor really wanted him to be watched so she called us an ambulance to ride over in. Wes was a little out of it to really enjoy it (it was really hard for him to even talk) but he has been talking about it for the last week.

After we got to the hospital they did breathing treatments all through the night with other respiratory treatments. They also took 2 chest x-rays trying to determine if it was pneumonia , RSV, or something like that. He got a little worse through the night, they said that at one point he was hardly using his right lung. So we got to stay most of the next day playing games, watching t.v., and eating the chocolate milkshakes that I am obsessed with (I ate so many when I was in the hospital delivering Bradley).Throughout the day he progressively got better. The team of doctors met with me and said that it most likely is Asama. They said that he had an asmantic reaction to a little cold infection that he had got. With no other history of Asama they didn't think that he would need any daily treatment but just to watch and see what happens when he gets another cold. It was a scary experience for me but Wesley loved the fact that he got to sleep in the hospital and ride in an ambulance.

Summer Happenings

We have really been enjoying the summer sun. We have been trying to get outside as much as possible to store up the vitamin D before winter. Orrin is still in school so we have been trying to plan some summer fun on the weekends.

Berry Picking is one of my most favorite things to do.

The summer sun was heating up the strawberries and it smelled so good. Everyone picking the strawberries were talking about how wonderful it smelled. They were the best strawberries I had ever tasted!!

Of course the Blueberries were a hit too. They are my favorite. Brad was able to pick some for himself and they went straight into his mouth. He had so many berries.

We have also been going on lots of walks, bike rides, and hikes. We decided to try out one of the many trails on Marquam Hill which is the hill that Orrin's school is on. It was so weird to start up the trail and really feel like you are in the middle of the forest and not see a hint of civilization but knowing that through the trees are homes, stores and the Hospital/School. It's really a cool hill. I have gotten lost on it a few times so I have been able to see a lot of it.

We have also gone swimming. We have a pool here at our apartment and the boys have also been taking swimming lessons (which they love).
